KENAI RIVER EARLY SEASON
(MAY - JUNE)​​

  • King Salmon (Chinook): The first run of King Salmon begins in mid-May and continues through June. This usually bring us some of the first fishing of the season starting around May 16th.

Kenai River Mid-Season
(July - Early August)

  • Sockeye Salmon (Red Salmon): July marks the peak season for Sockeye Salmon, known for their abundance and popularity among fisherman.
  • King Salmon (Second Run): A second, larger run of King Salmon occurs in early July, offering another chance for those targeting this prized species.

Kenai River Late Summer
(Mid August - Sept)

  • Silver Salmon (Coho): Starting in August, the first run of Silver Salmon arrive peaking in the 3rd week of August. They are known for their spirited fight and are a favorite among sport anglers.
  • Pink Salmon: In even-numbered years, Pink Salmon runs occur, adding to the diversity of fishing experiences in late summer.

(September - October)

  • Silver Salmon (Continued): The second run of Silver Salmon arrive peaking in mid-September, providing robust fishing opportunities, and the limit for silvers goes to 3 per person per day starting September 1.
  • Rainbow Trout: Fall is also an ideal time for Rainbow Trout, especially in September and October, when the trout are actively feeding.
