Why go early

Most of our bear trips, to Big River Lakes and Crescent Lake, follow the salmon, so they start in June and July. Chinitna Bay is the bear trip for visitors who come earlier. It is a flight past active volcanoes and glaciers to a remote beach, with the chance to see bears, wolves and moose. The first half hour of the flight is worth the trip on its own.

Easy to fit into an early-season trip

If you are on the Kenai Peninsula in late May or early June, in an RV, a hotel or a rental, Chinitna Bay pairs well with the other early-season trips we run: a day of Kasilof River fishing, or halibut fishing out of Homer. Book two or more trips and you get 5% off all of them.
